Is the Retirement age of Central Government Employees is increasing from 60 to 62 years?

In the year 1998 Central Government increased the retirement age of its employees from 58 years to 60 years. Now most of the employees are waiting for the change of retirement age from 60 to 62 years. Since Congress Government is going for the elections in the next year ie., 2014, there is a minor possibility of increasing the retirement age from 60 to 62 years. If they oppose this proposal Government may consider the proposal of merging DA with the basic salary. Officially Government has declined the proposal of merging DA with the basic salary as 6th pay commission is not recommended for the same.
