HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CYBER ATTACKS

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CYBER ATTACKS

HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM CYBER ATTACKS :

Any time you engage in online activity you potentially open yourself up to cyber attacks. There is a wide range of techniques hackers can use to steal personal information like passwords, tax records, bank account numbers, or even stop the PC from working. Here are five tips to stay safe online:
Strong password
Be smart and create a strong password that is certain to be difficult for the would-be hacker to guess. A strong password uses a combination of special characters, numbers, and upper and lower-case letters. Plus, the difficult to guess password should be at least six characters long. Also, make sure to use a different password for each online account.
Use email sensibly
Stay safe when using email by being careful about the type of information sent to work colleagues, friends, or family. Email is not entirely safe to send personal information. So avoid sending a social security number, credit card information, or similar confidential information in an email message. Plus, avoid opening the unsolicited emails (spam) because they often contain offensive content, viruses, and scams.
Shop wisely
If you are planning on doing some online shopping, make sure the website used is a trusted brand and relies on secure technology. On the checkout or other page that asks for personal details, be sure the browser has a secure address and begins with https:. Also, most online stores will clearly state the website uses the latest security technology to keep their customer details safe and encrypted.
Monitor childrens online activity
Make sure to pay proper attention to the childrens online activity. A preferred place to keep the main computer is in a community area which makes it easier to monitor. Use and install parental control software to ensure the online activity is limited to age-appropriate content. By using the proper software, it is not only possible to block access to the more undesirable content, but it also makes it possible to prevent personal information being share via online programs.
Use security software
Make sure to use a comprehensive suite of software tools to give wide-ranging protection whenever you go online. Whether you are using a premium or free version of the security software, it has the ability to protect the home PC from a variety of cyberspace threats, such as identity theft, spam, adware, spyware, and viruses. Plus, to increase the ability to detect the latest threats it is essential to do regular updates to keep the software working properly.

How much amount will I get after retirement from NPS

How much amount will I get after retirement from NPS

How much amount will I get from NPS after retirement?

National Pension Scheme (NPS) or New Pension Scheme is the compulsory Pension scheme for the Central government employees who joined the organisation after the year 2004.  This is the Contributory Pension Scheme for all the employees who joined after 2004.

In this Pension Scheme, 10 % of employees basic salary will be deducted and the same amount will be added by the Government to employees NPS account. To know approximately how much amount one will get after retirement, NPS trust has designed a calculator. The URL of the NPS Calculator is http://www.npstrust.org.in/PENSIONCALC/Index.html .

In the calculator, we have to enter the age and how much amount for NPS is being deducted in the salary, expected return on investments and percentage of Corpus reinvested for Annuity(Minimum is 40%) . NPS Calculator will give you approximately how much amount will  get after the retirement.

Though the calculations are approximately, NPS Trust Calculator will give an rough idea on how much amount will a employee get after retirement.

How to withdraw money from New Pension Scheme NPS

How to withdraw money from New Pension Scheme NPS

New Pension Scheme (NPS)

In my previous article I explained about New Pension Scheme (NPS) and the benefits of New Pension Scheme and also discussed about how to check balance in New Pension Scheme . New Pension Scheme in short called as NPS which is the default pension scheme for all the Central Government employees who joined the organization on or after 2004.

Difference between Old Pension Scheme and New Pension Scheme

The main difference between the Old Pension Scheme and the New Pension Scheme is "in the old pension scheme after the retirement of the employee from the organization Government will provide certain amount monthly in the form of pension. The amount provided to the employee will depends on the basic of the employee what he/she is earning at the time of retirement(60 years).

In the New Pension Scheme from the starting of his/her employment both Employee and Government will invest certain amount (10 % of basic salary) in the market (controlled by PRFDA) through out his career. At the time of retirement 60% of the total deposited money can be withdrawn (lump some at the age of 60 or in total at the age of 62) and the remaining 40% of the money should be invested in any annuity (like Insurance or some other ) directed by the Government. The interest on the annuity is the pension for the employee in the New Pension Scheme.

How to Recover Deleted Text Messages from Android Device

How to Recover Deleted Text Messages from Android Device

Q. In order to free the memory space, I was deleting old message threads from my Samsung Grand. While doing so, I accidentally checked the ‘Select All’ option and pressed delete. All messages had GONE forever!

The entire message database had got cleared. Among the deleted ones, there were some important messages that I wanted to retrieve back.

Reply

I have successfully recovered my lost messages back, with the help of “Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery for Android” app without any hassle.

This is how I did this!

Follow the given procedure to recover deleted text messages from any Android device:

Before installing the Android recovery App to your device, you need to root it.

Follow the given steps to root your device:

First, you’ll need to download the Kingo Root application for rooting your device. You can get it from: http://www.kingoapp.com/.

Note: Other tools and methods are also available for android device rooting. I am mentioning the one that fitted best in my case. You can choose any other alternative that suits you better.
  • Get your device fully charged.  Backup your smartphone data then go ahead with the Rooting process.
  • Download the Kingo app setup (follow the link mentioned above) and install it on your PC
  • Go to Settings > Click ‘About Phone’
  • Keep tapping the Build Number for opening the Developer mode.
  • Once it is opened, click on the developer mode option and select the check box for USB Debugging.
  • Run the Kingo app set up and Install it on windows system.
  • Connect your Samsung device to the system, scan and detect it using Kingo.

  • Click the root button to start the rooting process.

    •  Once the rooting process is done, you are all set to recover lost data using ‘Stellar software for Android recovery’

    • Once the rooting process is completed, go to Google play store and install the Android data recovery app:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stellarinfo.stellarandroidrecovery
    • Run the Android data recovery app on your device. Scan using the app. It will scan for all the deleted data from the internal as well as external memory.
    • After Scan completion, it will enlist all your recoverable items.
    • You can preview the items and choose to save them at your desired location (may be your phone, any FTP site). You can also choose to share them via Facebook, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Google Drive etc.
Note: Before using  the Android recovery app, you need to root your device as rooting allows you install third party apps  to your android  device and let them communicate with the master boot records of the Android OS. Sometimes rooting the device can bring unpredictable changes such as:  it might void your device warranty or make it inaccessible. To avoid such situations, keep an updated backup copy of the entire device data. If rooting doesn’t go well, you can still restore your data from the backup. You can choose to back up the device using OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox or any other cloud storage service.

Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery for Android works great in all sorts of android data loss situations. Whether its data loss due to virus infections, restoring factory settings, formatting, accidental deletion, OS error or rooting. The software let you recover photos, phone contacts, phone messages, and other data from internal and external storage of the Android device. It supports data recovery for android devices from Samsung, Motorola, Google, LG, Sony, HTC, ZTE and other popular Android phones and tablets. Stellar Phoenix Data Recovery for Android is a commendable utility to recover data from Android without any hassle.

How to search for the missing people in the recent 2013 Uttarakhand Floods?

As you all know how the recent floods in Uttarakhand (North India) effected the people in India. The Uttarakhand Floods which is also called as "Himalayan Tsunami"  had effected most of the people who are staying around the Uttarakhand area. Apart from them, most of the effected people are the pilgrims who came on pilgrimage to visit the temples like Kedarnath, Badrinath etc around the Uttarakhand area.

Though there is no conformed reports on number of people dead,  as per rumors in the Electronic Media more than 5000 people are dead in the Uttarakhand Floods and many people are still missing.

To help the relatives/friends of missing people in the Uttarakhand 2013 Floods, Google created a webpage called "Person finder:2013 Uttarakhand Floods" in which one can search for the name of the person who is missing.  One can also create a new page and enter the details of the person who is missing.

If you are looking for some one missing in the Uttarakhand Floods, one has to select "I am looking for someone" option and has to enter the name of the person who is missing. Downgrade from iOS 8 to iOS 7

Downgrade from iOS 8 to iOS 7

How to downgrade from iOS 8 to iOS 7
Is it possible to delete iOS 8 and go back to iOS 7? Yes - but time is limited. Heres our advice on downgrading your iPhone or iPad, including how to reinstall iOS 8 if iOS 8.0.1 broke your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
Can I remove iOS 8 from my iPad and iPhone, and reinstall iOS 7? Im sure its slowed them both down.
Removing iOS 8 (or any other version of iOS) and downgrading to the previous version is relatively straightforward, provided you do so within a few days of launch. Theres a brief window (generally just a few days) after Apple releases a new full version of iOS, during which the company continues to sign (or authorise) the previous version. In those few days you can downgrade reasonably easily.
In this article we show how to downgrade your iPhone or iPad from iOS 8 to iOS 7 - the pitfalls, the problems, and the preparations you can make before upgrading in the first place.
Update: iOS 8.0.1 has caused major issues for some iPhone users. Weve added a section to this article that explains what to do if iOS 8.0.1 has broken your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
How to reinstall iOS 8 if iOS 8.0.1 has broken your iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus
Apple on 24 September released iOS 8.0.1, but quickly pulled the update when iPhone and iPad users reported major issues.
Many of those with iOS 8.0.1 installed found that they were no longer able to connect to their cellular network – instead they were faced with never-ending No Service.
The Touch ID fingerprint scanner also suffered from the update, with some users finding that they could no longer unlock their iPhone with the technology – instead being forced to use their passcode.
Apple has said: "We have a workaround for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users who lost cellular service and Touch ID functionality after updating to iOS 8.0.1. Affected users can reinstall iOS 8 through iTunes."
"We apologise for the great inconvenience experienced by users, and are working around the clock to prepare iOS 8.0.2 with a fix for the issue, and will release it as soon as it is ready in the next few days."
Below is a list of the bugs Apples iOS 8.0.1 update aimed to fix, as described in Apples Software Update release notes.
    • Fixes a bug so HealthKit apps can now be made available on the App Store.
    • Addresses an issue where 3rd party keyboards could become deselected when a user enters their passcode
    • Fixes an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos from the Photo Library
    • Improves the reliability of the Reachability feature on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
    • Fixes an issue that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving SMS/MMS messages
    • Better support of Ask To Buy for Family Sharing for In-App Purchases
    • Fixes an issue where ringtones where sometimes not restored from iCloud backups
    • Fixes a but that prevented uploading photos and videos from Safari.
If youve got an iPhone 6 or an iPhone 6 Plus and have found that iOS 8.0.1 has broken it, Apple has provided instructions for a "workaround."
The first thing youll need to do is make sure your version of iTunes on your Mac or PC is up to date by going to iTunes > Check for Updates, then connect your iPhone to iTunes.
Make sure your iPhone is backed up to iTunes (Apple says iCloud backups wont restore to earlier versions).
On Apples support page, youll find links to files that youll need to download depending on which device youve got.
You can then open iTunes, and press the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (PC) and click Check for Update.
Then press Update, and iOS 8 will be reinstalled on your iPhone.
If youve got iOS 8 and want to go right back to iOS 7, you can do so too. Read on to find out how.
Downgrade iOS 8 to iOS 7: Back up. Really! Back up now
During the reinstallation process, iOS will wipe all of the apps and data from your iPhone or iPad (except for the undeleteable, stock apps). Make a backup  of the device - in iTunes or iCloud - before you begin the following procedure.
Downgrade iOS 8 to iOS 7: Get an .ipsw file for the previous version of iOS 7
To reinstall iOS 7, you need the relevant .ipsw file - in this case youre looking for 7.1.2.ipsw. If its stored on your hard drive you can find it by following the path youruserfolder/Library/iTunes/ and then within a folder called iPad Software Updates, iPhone Software Updates or iPad Software Updates.
If you cant find the latest one on your Mac - which is fairly likely, giving the Macs tendency to delete them periodically - then dont worry. Simply run a search for download ipsw and select and download the appropriate file for your device. There are plenty of sites to choose from.
Downgrade iOS 8 to iOS 7: Open the .ipsw file
Assuming that Apple is still signing iOS 7, the following steps should be fairly easy. Plug your iPhone or iPad into your Mac (or PC - the steps are essentially the same), then launch iTunes. Click on your device in the iTunes interface and select Summary. Now hold down the Alt/Option key, and click the Restore button. (Youll need to disable the Find My feature on the device if youve enabled it.)
Now navigate to the iOS 7.1.2.ipsw file and click Open. The Mac will now reinstall iOS 7 on your iPad or iPhone.
Downgrade iOS 8 to iOS 7: If necessary, go into Recovery mode
There are some potential obstacles, however.
If iTunes says youre already running the latest version of iOS on your device, you may need to use Recovery mode. Shut down the device, plug one end of the syncing cable into your computer and hold down the Home button on the iPhone/iPad while you connect the cable to it. When the Connect to iTunes screen appears, release the Home button.
iTunes will say that your device is now in Recovery mode. Hold down the Option key (Alt), click Restore, navigate to the iOS 7.1.2.ipsw file, and install it on your device.
Downgrade iOS 8 to iOS 7: How to tell if Apple has stopped signing iOS 7
At some point in the next few days, Apple is going to stop signing iOS 7, and this procedure will get a lot more complicated.
If you get an alert that says this version of iOS is not compatible with your device, that means Apple has closed the window. Youre probably stuck with iOS 8, but well look into any remaining methods of downgrading when we next update this article.
    Good luck!

How to recover lost photos from Nikon digital camera

How to recover lost photos from Nikon digital camera

Digital cameras are most widely used for personal uses as well as for professional photography. It a common scenario that you may lose the clicked photos from the camera SD card in various situations such as while transferring photos from camera to computer system. There can be various other photo loss scenarios like: issues with the storage media/SD card , accidental deletion of photos, accidentally formatting the memory card, photo loss while data transfer from camera to system or vice versa and software failure etc.

How to recover lost photos from a digital camera?

In a digital camera, a flash memory is used to store the clicked photos known as SD or SDHC card. The type of memory card may vary such as SD card, SDHC card, SDXC  card, CF card, xD Picture Card, multimedia card MMC, MicroSD card, xD card, MicroSDHC card, MicroSDXC card, SD mini  or Memory Stick etc.

When you press ‘delete’ button to delete a photo from your camera, it deletes the item from memory. However it isn’t actually erased, only the space will be marked as free (reference to access it, gets deleted) and the allocated space is freed for further use. Same is the case for memory card formatting. Thus there are chances of photo recovery but if the deleted data has been overwritten by some other data then it cannot be recovered anyway.

As there is no built in trash/recycle bin in the camera from where you can restore the deleted photos back. So there is no direct method for performing photo recovery from a digital camera. You require using some professional photo recovery tool that can be run over some Windows based OS with the problem digital camera/SD card attached to it.  These tools let you scan for the deleted items and let you preview the list of all recoverable items. Later on, you can save the recoverable items at your desired location.

How to perform photo recovery using photo recovery software?
    • Download the software from: http://www.stellarinfo.com/digital-media-recovery.htm
    • Install the software on your Windows based system.
    • Attach the camera memory card to the system. Run the software.
    • The main interface will be opened. Click the option to Recover Photo, Audio, & Video. From the listed media devices, select the one that is to be recovered.
    • After selecting your problem media/memory card click ‘Scan now’. The scan process will begin; the recoverable files will be shown in the left pane of the window. Once the scan process is completed, you can select the all/desired item listed in the left pane and preview them.
Note: You can also choose the ‘Advance Scan’ option. This option lets you perform customized recovery on basis of file types. You can choose to scan the media according to the file list (i.e. ‘Photo’, ‘Audio’, or ‘Video’) or the data range from the storage media
    • Finally you can select all or desired items from the recoverable items list and save them at your desired location.
Using the above software, you can recover lost photos, HD MOV files and other multimedia files from memory cards, digital cameras and internal & external drives. It supports recovery of different image, audio and video file formats.
It supports BMP, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, Mamiya (MOS, MEF), Paint Shop Pro Image File (PSP), and Picture File (PCT) etc. image file formats. The supported audio file formats are: RPS, MP3, AU, WAV, MIDI, OGG, AIFF, RM, WMA, RA, M4P and M4A.The supported video file formats are MP4, 3GP, AVI, MPEG, Matroska Video File (MKV), AVCHD Video File (MTS), Divx Encoded Movie File (DIVX), MOI Video File, Video Object File (VOB), OGG Media Player (OGM), 3G2, ASX.
The above given are some common features of “Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery (Windows)” software. The software is laced with advanced and powerful photo recovery features.

    How to recover data from RAID 0 1 5 6 10 configurations

    How to recover data from RAID 0 1 5 6 10 configurations

The traditional data storage configuration system has been replaced by RAID in majority. The RAID configuration let you store large amount of data with enhanced features such as: data protection, reliability, availability, performance. Sometimes you may lose access to your RAID data due to various reasons such as: Hardware failure, drive corruption, array failure etc.

You can find here information about various RAID configurations and later on, we will discuss how to recover data once the RAID architecture fails or become inaccessible.

    About RAID configurations:

The term RAID refers to redundant array of independent disks.

The configuration is based on the concept of storage virtualization. Virtualization means dividing the system resources among different applications. A storage system is basically a storage array or disk array or a filer. Storage virtualization uses virtualization to enable better functionality, data redundancy, performance improvement and more advanced features in computer data storage systems. RAID uses the concept of storage virtualization for combining multiple disk drive components into a logical unit.

Using this kind of methods, the computing and data processing gets faster. Along with these, it also provides better data protection, reliability, availability, performance, and capacity features.

Based on architectures, RAID is divided into different levels: RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 4, RAID 5, RAID 6 and RAID 10 etc.

Different RAID levels are explained below:

RAID 0: It is also known as a stripe set or striped volume. Data is distributed evenly between two or more striped disks that act as a single large logical disk. No redundancy, mirroring, parity is used. As there is no redundancy, if one drive fails the whole RAID volume fails.

RAID 1: The data of the drives are copied/ mirrored exactly on two or more disks. If one drive fails the RAID still keeps working as the same data is present on the other mirrored copy of the disk from where it can be accessed. No parity or striping is used.

RAID 2:  Bit-level striping is done rather than block level. The disks work in synchronization such that each sequential bit is on a different drive. Hamming code is used for error correction.

RAID 3: In this case, Byte level striping is done. The disks work in synchronization such that each sequential byte is on a different drive. For each corresponding byte parity is calculated and stored on a dedicated parity drive

RAID 4: It is based on block-level striping with dedicated parity

RAID 5: It is based on block-level striping with distributed parity among the drives. Minimum of 3 disks is required to create RAID 5. If a single drive fails, still it will be functioning.

RAID 6: It is based on block-level striping with double distributed parity thus provides fault tolerance up to two failed drives

Note: Data striping is a practice of saving consecutive segments of logical sequential data on different physical storage devices. disk mirroring is the replication of logical disk volumes onto separate physical hard disks in real time to ensure continuous availability A parity bit, or check bit is a bit added to the end of a string of binary code that indicates whether the number of bits in the string with the value one is even or odd. Parity bits are used as the simplest form of error detecting code.

Among the above RAID implementations, RAID 5 is the popular one.

    Which one to choose?

In RAID 5 the data blocks and parity is striped among all disks. Though it offers good data protection, it has few drawbacks too.

    Drawbacks:
    • 20% of the disk space is allocated for parity.
    • If the data blocks are large, the read performance will be slower.
    • When a RAID 5 is to be rebuilt, a lot of complex parity calculations needs to be done for every block. Building the disk from scratch is quite sophisticated and time consuming. If a single sector on the RAID 5 array demise, the whole array needs to be rebuilt. As the size of disk will be more, the time taken for rebuilt will also increase accordingly. Comparatively RAID 6 is treated as a better choice in comparison to RAID 5.
If even a single disk fails, the whole RAID 5 array becomes erroneous. The problem disk hasn’t been repaired, Meanwhile a second disk demises. In such case, you may lose your important data. In such case the faulty drive needs to be rebuilt while it’s online and in production. If RAID has stopped working properly due to any logical issues, you can have a quick and easy RAID recovery by using the Stellar Phoenix RAID Recovery software. The software can recover raid data from various RAID configurations of RAID 0, 5, 6 and 10 servers.

Using the software, you can recover deleted documents, files, folder, multimedia files and emails from Windows drives, external media, and RAID 0, RAID 5, and RAID 6 arrays. It lets you recover lost/missing RAID logical volumes, FAT, exFAT, and NTFS partitions of size 2 TB or more. You can preview the list of recoverable items before actual recovery.

The software offers Remote Recovery feature to perform recovery over a network or remote location. To build the probable RAID construction, the software automatically matches patterns and parameters of the RAID configuration. If you don’t remember these details, simply select the Dont know option and parameter values (Strip Size, Parity Order, Parity Delay etc.).

If the software fails to build RAID construction then you can perform RAW recovery using virtual RAID construction. Using the tool, you can create image of your problematic hard drive volume or external media and perform recovery from the drive image. Signature based recovery comes handy if the quick recovery fails to recover the lost data. The software let you recover corrupt or incorrectly burnt CD DVD burnt on Windows, Mac, UNIX or Linux. You can benefit the S.M.A.R.T features using the Drive Status option of the tool. This feature let you gather the hard disk information about serial number, model number, size, status, temperature and firmware revision etc.

Retirement age of Central Government Employees is increasing from 60 to 62

Is the Retirement age of Central Government Employees is increasing from 60 to 62 years?

There is a rumor spreading across various Central Government employees that Government is planning to increase the retirement age of its employees from 60 years to 62 years. As per the news across various blogs in the internet it is learnt that Government officially denied this proposal.

In the year 1998 Central Government increased the retirement age of its employees from 58 years to 60 years. Now most of the employees are waiting for the change of retirement age from 60 to 62 years. Since Congress Government is going for the elections in the next year ie., 2014, there is a minor possibility of increasing the retirement age from 60 to 62 years. If they oppose this proposal Government may consider the proposal of merging DA with the basic salary. Officially Government has declined the proposal of merging DA with the basic salary as 6th pay commission is not recommended for the same.

How to Prevent Windows 8 1 from Crashing aka Rebooting

Microsoft recently released a Windows 8.1 as a free update to address shortcoming of Windows 8 and also introduces new features to make it looks more attractive and adaptable for end users. Sometimes, user complaining about this latest released OS that it crashes frequently, reboots or just hangs at mid after doing updates, installing applications or doing some minor system settings modifications.

      Windows 8.1 Crashing or Rebooting

Although, Windows 8.1 is designed to perform robustly regardless the hardware or software combination you’re using. Sometimes, the situation just goes wired and your computer might start behaving abnormally. Windows 8.1 may hangs, freezes or reboots abruptly and there are several reasons which could this and investing for the exact cause might saves bunch of time / countless efforts.

Below are the possible scenarios behind such problems and relevant solution that you could follow to resolve immediately.

      Hardware related problems
It’s always recommended to have all the hardware requirements successfully met for running Windows 8.1 and to avoid future troubles. If such requirements arent met properly, your computer will start behaving strange and gives problematic situations mentioned earlier.

It is also important to check the health status of all the hardware equipment such as Motherboard, GPU, overheating etc.  You can also use tools to check your PC for failing hardware and replace them to fix issues with your computer.

Disable third party or malicious programs
Perform a thorough audit of your system to check for faulty programs or programs from not a trusted source. Open ‘Task Manager’ from the taskbar and carefully look for currently running programs. To close any programs immediately, right click on it and choose ‘Disable’.
Avoid using multiple programs to run at startup as it can significantly increase the total time taken to start your PC and reduces overall performance. Moreover, programs from unauthorized source may prevents Windows to complete required operations normally.

      Use System Maintenance
System Maintenance is an inbuilt utility provided from Microsoft and located under Control Panel > System and Security > Action Center > Troubleshooting > Run Maintenance Tasks. To access Control Panel from your Windows 8.1 PC, simply navigate cursor to lower left corner of the screen and right click.
Be sure to run the system maintenance tasks using administrative privileges which ultimately increase the chances of getting your computer problem fixed easily.
P.S. On the system maintenance wizard screen, click on ‘Advanced’ option to make ‘Run as Administrator’ option visible.

      Outdated or faulty drivers
Hardware manufacturers provide updates to their hardware driver frequently or occasionally. These updates will help your PC to perform faster, consume less energy and work in accordance with the latest application requirements. It’s recommended to check for driver updates at least once in a week, if you can’t do it regularly. Manufacturer website and third party tools can be used to check latest driver updates as well as install them immediately.

The dark side is, if this isn’t done since long ago and there are multiple versions of driver has been released from manufacturer, you might found your computer giving freezes or hangs and prevents you to use it normally as you use it before. In worst cases, system may start rebooting in loop or throws black screen just after passing the Window booting screen.

This problem looks obvious but once took place, you might face system inaccessibility and needs to address the issue first before using it any further. I’d recommend you to perform the following activities and see if it can fix the issue:

      1. Start Windows update from Control panel and install all the updates. It’ll automatically scans hardware for driver updates and install it immediately.
      2. If the problem persists even after successfully installing all the available Windows updates, the second place you should see is the manufacturer website and carefully look if they’ve any recent updates for the particular driver. If so, download and install it manually without wasting a second. Device Manager is also used to check for driver updates.
      3. If the problem is surfaced after updating the driver to new version, you can press rollback from the device manager which brings in an earlier stable version of that particular driver.
Check for Event log files (For Pros)

Every time your PC crashes or any event occurs, it maintains record that will includes the reasons, time and exact location where error took place. These record is known as Event logs aka minidump files, and can be found under C: /Windows/ Minidump Files. If you find no record in that location, most probably your system isn’t configured to store minidump files. You can configure your computer to store minidump files after every failure occurs on your PC.

These record will help analyzing the exact problem behind crashes so could you could address it, if possible. As the record contains all the details pros needed to suggest possible solutions, you’ll need to provide them at first.

Hopefully, these solutions are capable enough to resolve errors behind Windows 8.1 crashes. If the problem keeps occurring again and again please post your situation in the comment form below and we’ll provide solution ASAP.

If you’ve already faced this problem and addressed the issue using different solution/tricks that isn’t mentioned here, feel free to share it with our readers.
